Lucca wasn’t built in a day

Birth of Luca Pacioli, the father of double-entry accounting and the inspiration behind our very first software application. We don't need much to create a great story!

1962

Birth of Gilles Satgé, without whom there would be no Lucca, so he’s pretty important!

2002

Creation of the company. Lucca consists of 4 people and 2 software applications.

2003–2006

Not gonna lie, it was a bit of a nightmare!

2007

Lucca stops selling software licenses to focus on the SaaS model, way before it was cool and everyone else was doing it.

2008

The addition of a payslip distribution tool and creation of a portal enhance the product range. The idea of an HR applications suite takes shape.

2011

The business starts to grow, and Lucca's revenue surpasses 1 million euros.

2012

Lucca celebrates its 10-year anniversary with a workforce of 25 and a revenue of nearly 2 million euros.

2016

Lucca now has over 1,000 clients. Growth starts to accelerate.

2018

Lucca's workforce now exceeds 100 employees.

2020

Lucca sets a goal of reaching 100 million euros in revenue in 2025.

Lucca purchases Bloom at Work, an employee survey tool provider.

65 million euros raised in capital funds. Subsidiaries open in Switzerland and Spain.

15 million euros raised in capital funds. A subsidiary opens in Germany.

We say what we’re doing and why we’re doing it

Here at Lucca, transparency applies beyond the walls of our company buildings. We embody this honesty every day in our relationships with users and clients. We communicate exactly what our software does (and doesn't do) to prevent any nasty surprises. Our pricing is public. There's no hidden small print. Users can access all data held about them, including details of calculations, so they can understand the full picture (leave balance, expense amounts, payroll variables, etc.).

Designing for employees requires us to be rigorous in terms of usability, simplicity and functional relevance. We demand these standards throughout the development life cycle, and this gives purpose to our work. Everyone, whatever their role, asks the question: “Does this really serve the needs of the person looking at the screen?"

Product quality is what guides us. Market whims and commercial ambitions do not dictate our decisions. Our roadmap is based on a vision of what a perfect product should be — a product that brings maximum satisfaction to its users.
